Abstract of program activity.:
Ever since the days over 130 years ago when Julia Ward Howe launched her passionate Mother’s Day Proclamation, urging women to meet together to prevent the scourge of war, women have met to draft strategies for disarmament and the solving of conflicts by peaceful means. We propose a seminar/workshop on the subject of Women, Peace and Democracy, focusing on the role of women in influencing decision-making in vital areas concerning the militarisation of the globe, arms proliferation and strategies for disarmament,conflict prevention and the inclusion of women in peace negotiations.
