As the present crisis of globalised capitalism is developing on a world scale, socialism is back on the agenda as a result of real movements that have developed over the last years particularly in Latin America. The content of these movements should not be ignored by conscious activists in Europe. Social justice and participatory democracy are doomed to be just abstract slogans if not embodied in the movement of the masses and based on workers' control and management over the economy. The debate on what is Socialism in the 21st century is going to become the central issue in the years to come.
